Global Health Trax makes strategic move, joins progressive membership of GOED

VISTA, Calif.-- April 11, 2012--Global Health Trax, Inc., which is developing an algal-based omega-3-based array of products in the coming months, is pleased to announce that it has joined the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 (GOED).

During the latter half of 2012, Vista, Calif.-based GHT (www.ghthealth.com), an industry leader in nutritional supplements, will be bringing to market its AlgaeBio Omega-3 Origins™ products -- ultra-pure omega-3 fatty acid oils, sourced from marine algae, that include both EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). GOED, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a non-profit trade association focused on growing the global markets for EPA and DHA products.

AlgaeBio Omega-3 Origins™, to be distributed and sold by GHT, is a premium product based on exceptionally high-grade omega-3 oils produced by Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Algae Biosciences Incorporated. The initial output of AlgaeBio Omega-3 Origins™ -- which will be available for both adults and children -- will contain equal parts of ultra-pure, vegetable-based EPA and DHA, at a blended ratio of 40 per cent. Because these marine algae are cultured through photosynthesis, AlgaeBio Omega-3 Origins™ will also include beneficial compounds such as phytosterols, chlorophyll, Vitamins C and E, and the carotenoids beta-carotene, lutein, and fucoxanthin.

Of all the polyunsaturated fatty acids, EPA and DHA are considered to be the most beneficial to the human body -- particularly the heart, brain, joints, and cardiovascular system -- and even more so when taken in tandem.

DHA is especially important to babies’ visual and cognitive development, and is believed to protect against the increased risk of heart attack associated with stress and depression. EPA, meanwhile, is considered beneficial for many inflammatory and autoimmune disorders, including asthma, arthritis, and bowel disease.
